## About

Designed and built the technical platform behind ZurichJS Conf, taking it from zero to a production conference system used to promote, sell, and operate an international JavaScript conference in Zurich.

The platform powers the public conference website, speaker lineup, workshop catalogue, sponsorship pages, ticketing journeys, discount campaigns, community partner flows, and attendee communication touchpoints. It processed six figures in ticket and workshop transactions, handled several tens of thousands of users in traffic, and supported a CFP process with 436 submissions from speakers across the JavaScript ecosystem.

This was not treated as a static event page. The platform needed to support a live event business, where content, multi-currency and multi-stage pricing, speakers, schedules, workshops, sponsor visibility, discount campaigns, and attendee communication could change quickly without compromising reliability or user experience.

Beyond the frontend, the project required thinking through the full event lifecycle: launching blind bird and standard ticket campaigns, surfacing VIP and workshop upsells, supporting hardship and community tickets, presenting sponsors clearly, managing CFP review flows, and giving attendees a polished experience from first visit to purchase intent. The site also acted as a credibility layer for speakers, partners, sponsors, and attendees, helping turn ZurichJS from a local meetup brand into a conference platform with international reach.

From a technical perspective, the platform focused on clean architecture, maintainable content modelling, strong performance, responsive design, analytics visibility, SEO, and operational flexibility. Across the ZurichJS meetup and conference properties, the platform grew through more than a thousand combined commits and supported meaningful real-world revenue, traffic, and community operations before the first conference even took place.
